WHAT IS SAFARNAMA??
Safarnama is NOT a trip. It is NOT a retreat. It is a mindfully curated journey, which happens every three months in different parts of India, designed to re-connect with yourself through nature, community and culture. It is a space where random strangers become friends and casual conversations become stories. It invites you to meet yourself, immerse in nature, and build genuine connections with fellow travellers. Curated with love by Silk Road Journeys to pause, unwind, and step away from the chaos of everyday life.
At it's heart Safarnama is a slow, meaningful gathering for celebrating the simple, beautiful gift called life.

Why should I attend Safarnama?
In this world of reels and hustling, we all need that pause to feel our emotions and let ourselves express in a way that is non-judgemental. Some things that you can expect at Safarnama are - meaningful workshops, barefoot nature walks, liberating sharing sessions, yoga and meditation, folk art, musical jamming, open mics, magical sunsets and the experience of living in tranquil nature.
All the activities are intertwined and flow into each other to create a holistic experience that is not limited to just “fun and chill”.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
A stay in the middle of a forest surrounded by trees, streams, and birds
Introspective workshops
Interactive games and activities
Local vegetarian meals three times a day
Sharing and Open Mic sessions
Nature trails and hikes
Soul-stirring songs and jamming sessions
A stage to showcase your own skills
Free zone where you can donate whatever you do not need (books, clothes, accessories) and pick whatever fancies you!
All the activities are curated with the idea of fostering deeper connections with the community, nature and our very own selves, encouraging you to delve deep into mindfulness. And in the process, build a community of like-minded people, artists, musicians, travelers, writers, philosophers, nature lovers, thinkers and anyone who is interested to explore a deeper understanding of life.
And because we don’t believe in preaching, all the workshops and activities will be gamified, entertaining and interactive in nature.

WHERE?
Our next Safarnama takes you to the coastal soul of Ratnagiri; where the Arabian Sea meets red laterite cliffs, and the air carries the scent of salt, mango blossoms and fresh breeze. Nestled along the Konkan coastline, Ratnagiri is a place where the sea, the soil, and simple living come together effortlessly. Surrounded by swaying coconut groves, hidden coves, ancient forts, and endless horizons, every moment here feels unhurried and unrushed. Here, time moves with the tides. Mornings begin with fishing boats returning to shore and the rhythmic hush of waves against black rock, while afternoons settle into the sweetness of coconut cakes, the shade of a mango orchard, and the quiet hum of village life. Evenings unfold in hues of amber over serene beaches, as fishermen mend their nets and the sea exhales into stillness. And then comes the monsoon.. when the Konkan coast transforms into something almost otherworldly. Grey clouds roll in low over the Sahyadris, and the first rains awaken the earth into a hundred shades of green. Waterfalls appear overnight along the ghats and the air smells of wet earth and cashew blossoms. Red-tiled roofs glisten under the downpour and every veranda becomes a place to sit, sip hot chai, and simply watch the rain fall. Built on the essence of exploration, heritage, and shared experiences, Safarnama: Capter six (Ratnagiri) invites you to immerse yourself in stories of the land of bliss and where inner journeys unfold as life finally slows to the pace of the waves. This is more than just a journey.. it's a gentle tide, a pause between horizons, and a chance to rediscover stillness by the sea.
